Hi Everybody. Here are some flowers for you all.  Happy May Day!

Had a good day today. Daughter in law and I drove to Pokagon State Park, and saw the Inn where the wedding will be. We also visited the church where we plan to have the rehearsal dinner (in their gym with a kitchen.) Then we went to a flower shop and a bakery, and got preliminaries taken care of.  Oh, we went out for lunch too..... And got home before her youngest got home from school!  We feel like we accomplished a lot.  Daughter in law is doing most of the planning because the bride-to-be lives and works in New York, and the groom-to-be (our son) is in Germany for his job, and will be there until exactly one week before the wedding. Talk about cutting it close! Anyway, now I'm tired so am going to check FB, then turn off computer and go to bed.

  • Beautiful flowers! It sounds like you were very productive today - that is a lot of stuff to get taken care of in one day!! You must have had a plan! Hope you are well rested when you read this!

  • This wedding sounds exciting--almost like a Biblical planned marriage. I have wondered what that was like. A guy and gal meeting for the first time and immediately married. I guess they fall in love later. lol

    • Yes. I wonder how much of our American wedding traditions are Biblical? Isaac took Rebecca into his mother's tent and they were married. Of course, Jesus went to a wedding, but maybe a ceremony like that was the custom of that day. I'm sure that God brought David and Emily together. We couldn't have picked a better partner for him.

  • pretty poppies?

hey, I feel good when a get a few things done, too.

sometimes I just get one thing done a day.

  • Pretty flowers...Thank you!

  • OOhhh such pretty flowers. :) Enjoy those!!

  • I just love poppies ~

  • Such beautiful poppies!
You had a really busy and productive day!
It is an unusual state of affairs for the mother of the groom (& your DIL?) to be the ones to do all of the planning and preparation! I think you should feel very proud of yourself. (& tired, too! ;-) )
RYC: Thanks, Gracia; it really makes a huge difference on how quickly I can accomplish tasks on computer today!
How cool that you had time in person with Val & St. Vi… & that you even did some geocaching with them! That all amounts to a great experience! I still am blessed by the time we enjoyed together with our hubbies that time! ♥

    • My DIL is the one who's mostly planning it. She consults with David and Emily on computer (or phone to Emily) and then does the groundwork. I went along because I wanted to see the place where the wedding will be and how to get there. Also I wanted to see the church where the rehearsal dinner will be, since we're hosting that. Pokagon State Park is about halfway between where we live and where Emily's extended family lives. The wedding will be there at the Potowatami Inn, and the rehearsal dinner will be at a church in nearby Angola, IN. It cost too much to have it at the Inn. That's where the reception will be though, and the kids have already paid for it. They both have good jobs.

  • hehehe - ryc: Thank you so much for sharing. All the people who 'came' to my pity party did 'do good'. They have all brought me smiles, including you. :-D Thanks so much.

  • Beautiful tulips.

    • Aha! I thought they were tulips, but 2 people said they were poppies. We used to have wild poppies before we built this newer house. I loved them. Thank you so much for correcting us. I thought those were tulip bulbs I planted, but it was a long time ago.
