We have been to a lot of funerals and viewings lately.  Yesterday morning about 5 am I thought of this.  Begat in Pleasure,  born in Pain, buried with Grief.                                                                                                                                                   Life..........Prebirth, Infancy, Childhood, Adulthood, Old Age.   (I'm omitting Teenage, because I think it has been invented by our culture.  In other cultures, and previous generations here, one went from child to adult, and skipped the teen stage.)

The prophet, Micah said this.  "O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you;  to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."

Paul said "Thank God, He gies us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ."

He also said  "Rejoice in the Lord always.  Again I say rejoice."

PS  I wish I knew how to put the words where I want them on the page.  I could do it in the prior Xanga-World, but not now.

  • yes, I've been hearing about a lot of my classmates passing lately and we are just in our early 60's

  • People we've known for years, are no longer with us.....Time is going fast, and one day, our friends will wonder, why did they die? It seems as if they were here for just a short while....

Focus upon the Lord, and when it's time for you to go, you'll go.....Also remember, you are not of this world, but just in it.... Until the Lord says, it's time!

  • The sadness is because of separation on the part of the living. I believe the dead have passed on to a better existence - one filled with joy and peace and a community of believers... We should be rejoicing in their good fortune.

    • Yes, we should rejoice. That's much easier to do when the person has lived a rich full life, and we know that he or she loves God.

  • The thought of teenage being invented by our culture is a good one. Things would be better if they didn't have the idea they are adults at a very young age. Then they are given so many causes to be militant about and not taught real wisdom. I pray this generation will seek God and I think a lot of them are. That gives me hope. :-) Hope your week-end is wonderful!
