Weeds and Wildflowers.
I have heard that a weed is only a plant that's growing in the wrong place, and I think I believe that.
Matthew 6:38-30 Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not neither do they spin. Even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?"
I usually read the New Living Translation of the Bible, but some familiar verses sound better to me in the old King James. I prefer the KJV for the Christmas story from Luke, the 23rd Psalm, John 3:16, the Lord's Prayer, these two verses and a few others. They are all verses I learned as a child, and they just don't "feel" right to me in modern-day English.

I love to see the buttercups, and all the little purple and white flower (weeds) that grow around here.
Even the ragweed is pretty when it blooms, in the autumn, I think.
I also find the NLT easiest to read and relate to, but always refer back to the KJV.
Beautiful shots of the 'weeds!'
I agree on the weeds just being unwanted flowers. I do like the look of a field of dandelions in bloom - at least as long as they aren't in my yard!
I remember as a kid sometimes remarking, "What a pretty flower!" And the adult with me would say, "That's a weed."
Beautiful!!
I have the NIV, and used to have the American Standard....I do all my studying and reading out of the KJV....And I still read the NIV on occasion.....
such loveliness ~ thank you for sharing the photos ~
I can't imagine a world without the beauty of "weeds"!!!
Love the beauty that can be found in the wild. Yes, they don't worry either. Remember to take lessons from them is what I say to myself. The KJV is the one I learned growing up too. I prefer it. Some of the old stories just don't sound the same in other versions. Blessings on your day!
Weeds is a gardener's word but everuy specie has its place in the universe and its beauty . In the past botanic was one of my competence .
Love
Michel
I add : your photos are convincing .
Very pretty.
I like KJV too and even in Espanol.
You make wildflowers and weeds look beautiful, Gracia! One of my favorite scriptures, too ... God knows how to provide our needs doesn't He! He only asks that we trust Him! I also like reading the KJV ... many verses don't feel right to me either when I read them in other versions. We used it for memorizing during our home schooling years. I had a parallel bible when I first came to the Lord back in 1981 ... it was KJV and the Living Bible (the Living Bible is different than the New Living Bible, too) and it's hard to find another copy of that edition, 'cheap'. Mine isn't in the best of shape after all these years ... I've found them used online, and depending on their condition, they're selling anywhere from $90 to $100+ right now! Maybe I'll find one if I keep looking in the book booths at flea markets or antique malls, or even garage sales! You have a blessed weekend!
I remember the Living Bible. Had no idea they cost that much. We have a Christian bookstore here in town that has a lot of used Bibles. People give used Bibles and books to them, and they sell them cheap and give the money to the local jail ministry. Next time I'm there I'll look for a Living Bible. If I find one, I'll try to let you know.
