One of our great grand-daughters had her first birthday party yesterday afternoon. I gave up my traditional Sunday afternoon nap to go. Her mom made and decorated the cakes.

The first birthday is always a fun time - especially when the birthday child gets to really "dig into" that cake!! I had to hose off son#2 as he had cake in his hair, ears, up his nose, and nearly coating every inch of his body! I learned from son#1 and he sat in just the diaper!!
My kids only got a cupcake, and not a chocolate one. Times have changed.

My grandson Zain had his first birthday on the 4th of August, and Shelley baked a special cake for him. he didn't want anything to do with it, and wouldn't dig in like yours did. lol.
My oldest boy was like that. He didn't want everybody looking at him.
