Grapes and Fish
I'm still working on grapes. This is now my grape juice pillowcase. I hope I'll be able to find it next year. This was a suggestion I found on the internet. At least the pillowcase was. The rest of it I rigged up by myself. The case is pinned around the pole using diaper pins. I wonder if you can still buy diaper pins? I hope so. Sometimes they come in handy.
Our son in law went fishing in the nearby lake and caught a huge bass.
It weighed over 6 lbs and was 24" long. He was happy. They kept it to eat for dinner.

great catch! that fish will be good eating ~
I'm salivating thinking of the Bass! My friend has turned me on to the best way to fix bass - soak in buttermilk for ~10 min and then coat in seasoned bread crumbs and pan fry. Delicious!! I have some big safety pins but they aren't the diaper pins. I have seen them in the store but most of the people using the cloth diapers have these fancy over pants that are all about velcro - not at all like the plastic pants from days gone by!
You can still buy diaper pins. If you have a Babies R Us anywhere near grab a bunch nest time you go by. If not you can buy them at Babies R Us on line. I know cause I use them for everything and carry them with me. The other day I lost a button on my jeans and I used one from my purse and no one knew - shirt covered it.
Diaper pins can be bought, but only in those stores, like Dollar General, or Family Dollar, or most any other Dollar Store.....
If I'm not mistaking, they can also be found in Walmart, or K-Mart.....
YouR jars of Jelly make me think of my wife ' s ones ( with rhasperries ) .
This is a happy rime of the year .
Now she has just finished to sterilise green beans . What a job!
Compliments to your son in law ; a beautiful capture.

It think sterilising is what we call canning. It is a job!
That is a great catch!!!
Clever little contraption and, yes, you can still buy diaper pins, at least over here.
Wow that is a big bass! Love eating those fresh fish.
The pillow case for grapes is a good idea! Never thought of that. Someday I'd like to have a grapevine. I plant them and then neglect them too much I guess.
I got the pillow case idea from the internet. It works good.
