Easter Eggs
Hard-boiled eggs, hard-boiled eggs.
Hide them in the garden, hide them in the sun,
Hide them in the cabbage patch, hide them every one.
Hard-boiled eggs, hard-boiled eggs.
Find them in the garden, find them in the sun,
Find them in the cabbage patch, find them every one!
Red ones, green ones, blue ones and purple.
You find the blue ones, I'll find the burple. When our oldest son was little (about 50 years ago) he couldn't say purple. He always said burple.
We hide real eggs, as I figure the little ones have already had enough candy by the time they get to our house.

Those are some very fancy eggs!! I love the poem! It does capture the excitement of the Easter Egg Hunt! ( The photo looks like everyone is having fun!!
Kids make Easter fun.
Loved your poem. Sounds like you had fun.
Do they eat the hard boiled eggs? They look so colorful.
They often do, unless they are cracked. I always used the good ones to make egg salad sandwiches, as I hate to let food go to waste. Those were painted eggs, so they may not have eaten them. Mine were dyed using vinegar and food coloring and water. They weren't as bright as those in the picture.
I really liked this poem a lot, way more than the one I came up with. I kinda got stuck on this one!
It reminded me of the children's song "Hot Cross Buns," Also the poem in one of Beatrix Potter's books...."Gravy and potatoes in a good brown pot. Put them in the oven and serve them very hot."
Beautiful eggs!
The were wet and sticky. My daughter accidentally bought the kind you paint instead of the usual dye. I don't think she'll do that again.
I really like the up high and wide angle photo! Great job.
Sail on... sail on!!!
We have our egg hunt this Sunday.
I probably should at least hard-boil more eggs, as the kids always want to hide them again. We'll see.
