  • OK

Hi Everybody. I'm doing OK. It really helps to have family around. TX daughter and grand-daughter are still here. They'll probably leave Mon.

We have a lot of business to take care of, but it will get done. I haven't really had a chance to be lonesome yet. Tomorrow we'll go to look at monuments.

I still don't have glasses, but did have my eyes checked, and I'm supposed to get my new prescription next week. My old frames are still good, and I didn't want to spend the money on new frames, so I had to leave them there, and they gave me a loaner pair. They're kind of ugly, but at least I can halfway see.

Also my keyboard quit working. It was a real old one that someone gave me. I'm using a new one now, trying to get used to it, and not make too many mistakes.

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm doing OK. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.

  • I'm glad you have family that is still visiting. And of course your mother will be there too so you won't be totally alone. I wish I lived closer...

  • Very glad to hear that you are doing well, and that family is such a support. :-)

  • Don't think of them as ugly glasses; think of yourself as a hipster.

It's a blessing that your daughter and granddaughter were able to stay this long.

  • Glad to hear that you're doing well -- and that you've had company.

  • Glad that you are doing okay. Praying for you - with love.

  • Nice to hear you are handling things well and still doing the necessary things like new glasses.

    Blessings

    • I had to do the glasses because of the corrective lens surgery. I can't see good, can read only large print and can't drive until I get them. My kids have been driving me around.

  • It's always good to have company around.
As to the glasses, my wife and I buy glasses for us, our kids and some friends who are pretty destitute on a website called Zennis. You fill in your prescription, get someone to measure the distance between your pupils, and order the pair you like. The last time we bought glasses for two of the kids, the bill was $27 for prescription glasses for two kids. The only disadvantages are that it can take a couple of weeks to get them, and you have no personalized service as everything is done by pointing and clicking. Even my glasses, which normally cost around $150 after insurance pays its part, were around $30 for a regular pair, and $60 for a pair I had made as prescription sunglasses.

    • My prescription is so weird that I've been afraid to do that. I have such extreme astigmatism that they can't even chart it. The machines don't go that high. Some of my kids do something like you do, and it's a great idea.

  • so good to hear you are doing OK. I think of you often!

  • Not any typing mistakes, Gracia ! :)
I continue to think of you and pray.
    Love
    Michel
