  • Busy

We sure have an active social life lately.  Family Dr.  Heart Dr.  heart failure P.A.   eye clinic, optometrist, labs for blood work, hospital for tests, and for coumadin checks, dentist, etc.  At least we don't have any funerals or viewings to attend.  (Shh. someone might hear us.)

Did I tell you that hubby isn't allowed to have salt anymore?  I have to hide the salt shaker.  He can have 600 mg. at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and 200 at snack-time.  That adds up to 2000, which sounds like a lot, but most Americans eat between 4000 and 6000 each day.  It's not so much the obvious salt, like in potato chips, but they put salt in everything these days.  I've been trying to buy food without high fructose corn syrup, now I have to watch the sodium too.  It will be easier when I get new glasses and can read the tiny print on the packages.

Changing the subject.  Our big pine trees out front had some pretty icicles on them.

It's snowing again today. It looks like we're living in a snow globe.

  • How pretty the snow and icicles! Please avoid meeting Mr. Gout -- he takes all red meats, shellfish, and some miscellaneous veggies without giving back the things you are already watching!

  • hehehe - I got new glasses so I could 'read the tiny print on the packages' too. Trouble is, a year later I once again could not. :-/ Grocery shopping has become very trying and tiring. It was that when I was young, and so much more so as I become older and with even less energy, and now less vision too. :-(
I gave up salt years ago, except, yes of course, in all those foods that it is already in. I still love chips and pretzels from time to time.
and yes, have been trying to eat fructose free as well... that at least, is getting easier, as they are making more and more products free of it.

lol - about your 'social life'. I don't know if all those appointments qualify as 'social life'. :-)

I must admit that I am glad not to have icicles and snow so far this winter. :-)

I love your description of 'living in a snow globe' though. :-D

  • Ha! You are absolutely spot on with the snow globe analogy!Snowing here now - just a flurry. The real snow is supposed to happen tomorrow. I had to laugh about your circle of friend that you socialize with lately. My father had to give up salt too and it was really hard at first but since my mother did all the cooking he didn't have to think about it. Hope the adjustment is quick.

  • You have at home a permanent show of the various beauties of the winter.
Abourt social life , I feel Janine and I are living the same carrousel of doctors , specialist and surgeon.
    Love
    Michel

    • Both of us have lovely places to live, and great families. We are blessed, even if we now have to see doctors more often than we'd like.

  • I like that thought, living in a snow globe. :-) I wish for you and me and our loved ones to have a healthy happy year!

  • Pretty pictures.

  • Your pictures are beautiful. I remember life in the snow. It's pretty but I'm glad not to have it any more,
Praying you will both continue to be "better" all the time and the "social visits" will get to be less.
    Hugs and smiles, Char
