  • Pretty Girls

Of course, I'm not a bit prejudiced........well, maybe just a little.

Starting on the left, the blond girl is our grand-daughter who is 15. Next  is her mom, our daughter in law. On the right is our youngest daughter. Her two children are in the front row.,,They are our youngest grand-children, so far. They are 8 and 6 years old. There are younger ones in the family, but they are great grand-children.  The 6 year old is a bit ornery.  She refuses to smile nicely for a picture.  She'd rather make a face.

We often have at least part of the family over for Sunday dinner after church. I actually took this picture a few weeks ago. No one came last Sun. because the weather and the roads were so bad. Today there were 13 of us here. We had chicken stir-fry, rice, corn, and pineapple upside-down cake for dessert. I'm never quite sure how many are going to show up, so I try to make enough, and if we have left-overs we eat them later in the week. There was no leftover cake today though.  It's probably just as well.

Our church just finished a series on Jesus' return. As Christians, we look forward to His return. Christians don't agree on what will happen when. Our church is one that takes the Bible literally. It was an interesting series. Next we start a series on the end of Jesus'life here on earth, which will culminate with Easter and the Resurrection. It doesn't seem pssible that Easter (and Spring, we hope) will be here soon. This has been the longest winter I can remember since we've lived in Indiana. We're not suffering too much. We have a warm house, an attached garage, and heated cars. Today we had a heat wave compared to last week. It was up to 19, But it's supposed to turn colder again next week. Whatever.....there's not much we can do about it anyway. Our youngest son, who now lives in NY state, went hiking yesterday with his buddies at Niagara. He said it was fun. It wouldn't have been fun for me. I probably would have ended up in the hospital. Ahh, youth!

  • I enjoy seeing your family. I always say, though preachers may not agree on how Christ will return, it is important to be ready because it will happen in God's way - no matter what we believe about His return.

  • A lovely portrait of the pretty girls - the youngest is just giving her mother materiel for her HS graduation! You know, where the parents are supposed to put together a poster of photos for the graduation party and also provide several for a slide show that the school shows during the ceremony!!

  • Yes, the girls are beautiful. I am 81 years old and at this age realize that all women are beautiful.

My wife is hoping for the Rapture!!! She thinks it could happen any second.

My son wants to to pick a date. lol

We need some very wet weather here where I live. It sprinkled yesterday.

    • We keep in touch with our first pastor and his wife. She is planning to be alive for the Rapture. He says he hopes he is, and he hopes he is preaching when it happens, so he can say "I told you so" as he goes up. They are both in their 80's, but still drive up from Alabama to visit us once in awhile. Hope you get some rain out there very soon.

  • It looks like a lot of positive energy stored up behind those smiles!

    • Our daughter was full of energy when she was little, not all of it positive. Our daughter in law has been a big help in my husband's heart condition. She goes to Dr. visits with us, and takes notes. Also he (Husband) listens better to her than he does to me. I think that's a common husband-wife thing.

  • such a lovely family!!

  • Grand-daughter, daughter , daughter in law and youngest grand children form a beautiful bunch of smiling and kind people . They love coming in your welcoming home .
    Bravo
    Love

  • The 8 year old, (with the black sweater) looks like you Gracia.

    • She was my first cousin. She died in her 20's with a heart condition. Because of Xanga and FB I made contact with her daughter a few years ago. Someone she knew was on Xanga and saw my picture of the rug store and told Debby about it. Now we are FB friends.

    • I'm sorry. I thought you were commenting on another picture. That is my grand-daughter, Ella. She belongs to our youngest daughter, Gracia Elaine. She is a very friendly outgoing little girl. Also very impulsive and dramatic. Her mama is already having a hard time keeping up with her.
